  1. ParaAh, reddit. Sometimes you still manage to be on point and funny.
  2. Para"Claude Code's creator is sick of the phrase 'vibe coding.' Suggest your alternative here."
  3. ParaSo obviously someone suggested "slopmaxxing"
  4. jreicherI suggest "scrapbooking"
  5. Swayzeisnt it already "ai assisted coding"
  6. ParaNo.
  7. ParaMicroslop is microslop, vibe coding is now slopmaxxing. Both for same reason; corporations don't dictate public discourse.
  8. Swayzehttps://www.pluralsight.com/paths/ai-assisted-coding
  9. SwayzeYEP.
  10. jbosmansthe thing i sort of dislike about the whole "is it worth it" etc (usually lack of nuance aside) is that purely "cheaply generating a bunch of code" was solved years ago in the outsourcing days
  11. jbosmansv1.0.0.0 of any meaningful/actually used code is only the very first step of a very long journey
  12. jbosmansBUT
  13. jbosmansof course, people with vested interest in LLM would say "just ask AI to do it for you in the future"
  14. jbosmansnevermind the context window is x times larger, same as for the cost
  15. jbosmansand of course, there remains "no one you can call"
  16. jbosmansso i don't think i'm an AI skeptic, but not looking forward to changing my profession into AI recipe/prompt expert either - per se
  17. GreenResponseeverywhere I see “AI” label, I kill-it-with-fire.gif
  18. GreenResponsefor example firefox browser
  19. jbosmanswhat the best/least bad option tho browser-wise
  20. jbosmanswhat's*
  21. jbosmansi've been using firefox since (maybe before?) it was called phoenix
  22. GreenResponseI meant to say “AI features” in firefox
  23. dreamrealpffft
  24. dreamrealwe've been here before
  25. jbosmansand netscape 5/6 before that :')
  26. jbosmansGreenResponse, i tend to agree btw ^
  27. dreamrealhttps://bytecode.news/posts/2026/03/the-ai-dilemma
  28. javabotdreamreal's title: "The AI Dilemma | bytecode.news"
  29. GreenResponseI still use it, it’s the best browser on Earth, in my opinion and has big, shiny AI kill-switch
  30. jbosmanspretty soon someone will say, "why even browse yourself" etc
  31. jbosmansyeah, same
  32. jbosmansalso uBlock Origin && NoScript
  33. leppardjust needs one more know for restricting ram
  34. leppardlike edge....
  35. jbosmansso yeah, i spend time unblocking hostnames like a nitwit
  36. leppards/know/knob/
  37. jbosmansis edge better memory-wise than ff ?
  38. dreamrealno
  39. jbosmanscould be it changed again over "recent times"
  40. jbosmansdreamreal, good article @ BCN :)
  41. jbosmansin my experience, it's often missed/unseen that instead of improving things, complexity is actually simply being moved around
  42. jbosmansalas, "simply" is in hindsight, because the moving around itself of said complexity is all but simple (or cheap)
  43. jbosmansusually it starts with someone saying "why don't we just <insert here>?"
  44. jbosmansfwiw, it's good to call things into question, also much better if person doing it has some understanding what "things" actually do today
  45. jbosmanssorry, i had to respond to "why don't we just all write it ourselves" during some meeting last week, with mgmt in the room
  46. jbosmansi was triggered :)
  47. jbosmansin any case, so much for playing the role of captain obvious :-)
