  2. bluephaleth: https://github.com/rcompat/rcompat/commit/d9280b08f738d63193a828a8a829f2728810f87d
  3. nevetproby: support executing in bespoke environments via a *.env.ts file · rcompat/rcompat@d9280b0
  4. bluethat is SUPER exciting
  5. phalethhi blue
  6. blueso in case you're interested in WHY this is exciting, I'm going to add happy-dom as a devdep to primate. so finally I could test client code
  7. phalethnode:worker_threads hmm
  8. phalethI ran into happy-dom recently, just randomly
  9. dreamrealblue: is the discord bridge still working as expected?
  10. dreamrealI changed nevet's auth model today
  11. phalethI'm pretty sure you can create a new worker out of a blob, without a need of worker.js file
  12. blueyes worker_threads is an ugly dumpster fire. but I'm not sure @rcompat/worker is capable enough and this is rcompat, I'm *allowed* to be a sloppy bastard
  13. blueworker_threads is an out-of-spec retardation
  14. bot<discord:blue> test
  15. bluedreamreal: yes
  16. dreamrealokay, thank you
  17. bluephaleth: I don't like happy-dom. much like I don't like most deps. I'd much ather have @rcompat/dom. that being said, I don't have the lifetime to recreate a DOM in JS, so as long as it's a devdep, it's ok
  18. bluewould be absolutely not acceptable inside rcompat or as a normal dep
  19. bluein fact I'm still eyeing the very few deps that rcompat has, suspiciously. @rcompat/env has dotenv (slated for removal), while @rcompat/http has busboy and ws, which I also want to remove
  20. bluemy goal is that @primate/core is depsfree
  21. blueI really do wish node included websockets in its http server, seems like absolute basics in 2026
  22. bluebusboy is for supplorting multipart form data, which arguably should also be in node
  23. phalethblue: https://paste.debian.net/plainh/0d393a9d
  24. blueok, cool
  25. phalethI'd say it's good enough that node can do an HTTP server
  26. phalethI'd think only unix socket communication should be allowed with the runtime, but node decided to be an HTTP server and also to run on windows and all sorts of unnecessary, some functionalities should be taken by libraries and that's fine
  27. phalethwhy are all these javascript libraries written in javascript or typescript only is another story, prolly cause they want to remain portable
  28. phalethanyway, nowadays windows also has unix socket
  29. phalethso http server is an overkill
