  13. phalethusing application/x-ndjson looks like a good idea if the client can really start parsing the payload earlier
  14. phalethI've already enabled compression of application/x-ndjson in haproxy, means for primate website that's ready
  15. phalethI guess no change for bytecode.news needed since that uses it's own API, not sure

  20. bluehi phaleth
  21. phalethhi blue
  22. blueflog is getting ready soon
  23. phalethyeah, is flog gonna be fast?
  24. blueyes
  25. bluealso there's a follow-up to turn it into a runtime, and it's quite promising
  26. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/flog/tasks/10
  27. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/flog/jobs/7?run=186
  28. bluephaleth: ^
  29. phalethis it gonna embed v8 and use cgo?
  30. blueprobably gonna do handoff
  31. blue`flog app.ts --engine v8`, will handoff to flog-v8
  32. bluedefault engine probably gonna be qjs or whatver you configure. until dog is ready
  33. bluephaleth, esbuild showed that handoff isn't really as bad as people think. esbuild is actually not implemented as a node module, but as a real executable invoked by `exec` from node
  34. bluethe benefits are great, not having to support .node abi means bun and deno can run it in the same speed
  35. bluewhat flog will do is a bit different: it will hand off to another process, so the other way around from esbuild
  36. phalethI'd postpone dog until there is a ton of money to burn, web standars is a moving target
  37. phalethyup, esbuild is shipped as golang binary
  38. bluethe only thing I wanna see disappearing is node:, bun: and deno:, in favour of std:
  39. bluethat's my main reason for dog, tbh
  40. blueor flog in this case, really. dog is an engine
  41. phalethyeah, don't worry about engine, it's a ton of wasted time
  42. bluehey, you know me, I liek wasting time :P
  43. bluebut yeah. dog isn't a priority
  44. phalethbut for that life is short
  45. bluethe only reason to do it is satisfy the dog + master branch joke
  46. blue:P
  47. phalethflog will already have to have a ton of bindings to v8
  48. bluebut as you will see, #10 is deferred: I have no intentions of going the runtime path now until I've moved forward a few other things, mostly repopack
  49. phalethI think clanker can create some nice single page html for flog.run and that's about it
  50. bluejust need flog.run/install for now
  51. phalethand also the install.sh
  52. blueyes
  53. bluebtw, soon I can get rid of the machinectl things for scld
  54. blueit's ported to a repopack project and primate 0.42
  55. phalethwell, I have to create a backend in haproxy config, so it'd be good if there was at least something on https://flog.run/
  56. nevetPrimate โ€” The Universal Web Framework
  57. blueand postgres, instead of mongo
  58. blueyes
  59. blueI agree
  60. bluethis is coming up
  61. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/flog/jobs/7?run=186
  62. phalethyeah, let me know when I should modify the backend for sc
  63. bluephaleth: btw: hit `t` inside any repopack project :P
  64. phalethyeah, I'd like to see a trust me bro script and a front page at least with the how to install via trust me bro script, I now I can just download the thing
  65. blueyes
  66. bluethis is coming
  67. phalethclanker just spends so much tokens spamming all these repopack tasks and so it should be able to do that no problem
  68. blue100%, I'm just out of it currently
  69. phalethheh, ok
  70. phalethblue: can you merge this one manually? https://repopack.com/project/primate/tasks/191 I've already tested the Containerfile it's fine, then we can deploy the master branch
  71. bluedone
  72. phaleththanks, I will try to deploy the master
  73. blue`rp app deploy web-master`
  74. bluetechnically it's set to autodeploy on master advances, but there's a repopack bug there
  75. phalethyeah, how can you remember that
  76. phalethright
  77. bluewell rp always works like that
  78. blue`rp [command] [subommand] [args] [flags]`
  79. bluethe only thing you'd need to remember is the app name
  80. blueand if you don't, you issue `rp app list`
  81. bluelooks like it's working phaleth
  82. blueremember how a year or so ago I was complaining how hard it was to redeploy reliably on master, with fly?
  83. bluewe're almost there now :)
  84. phalethis repopack queing up these deployments?
  85. phalethand processing them FIFO style
  86. phalethanyway, the node's permission model is good enough for containers as containers should limit available ports, unless it has bugs
  87. blueI think it does FIFO, yes, but I'd need to check
  88. phalethso it seems like deno doesn't solve anything node cannot solve
  89. bluedeno is snake oil
  90. phalethok, cool
  91. phalethheh, so is bun
  92. phalethdo you think I should be able to replace nub with flog for the deployment? I guess flog detects node runtime right?
  93. phaleththere is no need for any trust me bro script for that
  94. blueyou could try, look at all that flog is already doing https://repopack.com/project/flog/tasks?status=closed
  95. bluewhen I go back to work on it, as soon as the reset hits, I'll set up flog.repopack.app and then we could point flog.run to it
  96. phalethalright
  97. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/repopack/tasks/566
  98. blueneed to deploy this as well
  99. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/flog/jobs/7
  100. bluecurrently job ids are global, that patch fixes them to be local, like tasks
  101. bluethis is important, especially when we switch to uuids for the id field
  102. phaleththe rp CLI is fetched from here https://repopack.com/api/v0/cli/version and that URL is public, is there such URL for flog as well?
  103. phalethyeah, looks like job ids are public
  104. phalethor rather in a shared table
  105. phalethwell, flog artifacts are protected
  106. phalethhmm, wait, I see the pattern
  107. phalethit's just returning 404
  108. blueyou can download it from the ui I think
  109. bluehttps://repopack.com/project/flog/jobs/7/runs/186/artifacts/flog-0.1.0-job-test-linux-amd64.tar.gz
  110. jreicherWhat is repopack? I was going to check it out but apparently I need a signin?
  111. bluejreicher: agentic git forge and deployment platform
  112. phalethblue: yeah, but the container build cannot since that is behind login
  113. phaleththis is public https://repopack.com/api/v0/jobs/1/runs/188/artifacts/ but this isn't https://repopack.com/api/v0/jobs/7/runs/186/artifacts/
  114. phalethor I guess the second one isn't even routed or so
  115. phalethjreicher: you will need an invite from blue and there are prolly couple other hoops to get in
  116. bluephaleth: let me fix that
  117. phalethok
  118. phalethmanually ;)
  119. bluein fact phaleth
  120. blueyou can update it yourself, if you wish
  121. bluerp job info 7
  122. bluedoes that work for you?
  123. blue(inside the flog checkout)
  124. phalethI need to be in the flog project I guess
  125. phalethyeah
  126. blueyes
  127. phalethlet me try then
  128. bluejreicher: you can join #repopack ; I can invite you if you provide me an email
  129. blueanyway phaleth
  130. bluerp job info 7 > /tmp/7.json
  131. bluethen edit the json and change artifact_access to "public"
  132. bluethen `rp job update 7 [json]`
  133. phalethok, heh
  134. jreicherHmm. What about repopack is "agentic"?
  135. bluephaleth: in one command, rp job update 7 "$(rp job info 7 | jq '.artifact_access = "public"')"
  136. jreicherI don't want to take up your time/effort if it's not something I'm actually going to use
  137. bluephaleth: you might need to rerun the job though I'm not sure, try without rerunning first
  138. phalethI don't understand the command `rp job update 7 [json]`
  139. blueupdate the job of that numbre with the given json string
  140. bluelook at my one command example with jq
  141. phalethPATCH /api/v0/jobs/7?project=flog failed: 404 Not Found: <!doctype html>
  142. phaleththat's what your one-liner returned
  143. bluelet me check the route
  144. bluejreicher: well, the flow on github is usually, you have issues and PRs. repopack replaces both with 'tasks'. tasks are bound to server branches, and they go through a status cycle of OPEN -> ACTIVE -> REVIEW -> REVISION/READY
  145. bluethe flow maximises working with agents to complete agents, and then providing feedback either by operators or by other agents
  146. bluerepopack is probably less interesting for you if you don't work with agents
  147. phalethor maybe repopack is more interesting if you wanna try working with agents and never done that before
  148. blueyes
  149. blueI'm checking that patch route, phaleth
  150. phalethand it looks like a code you've never seen before, heh
  151. bluewell, the patch route does exist
  152. phalethat least you know primate so you can find it, I'd not know where to look
  153. blueweb/routes/api/v0/jobs/[job]/index.ts
  154. blueweird, I see nothing in the logs
  155. phaleththere's also web/routes/api/v0/jobs/[job]/runs/[run]/artifacts/index.ts
  156. blueyes
  157. bluephaleth: for now use this https://superarch.org/flog-0.1.0-job-test-linux-amd64.tar.gz
  158. blueuntil I fix it
  159. phalethok, let me give you the full response
  160. blueI have it myself
  161. blueI tried it too
  162. phalethah, ok :D
  163. blueafk for a few hours. jreicher: feel free to join #repopack and/or send me your email address privately for an invite. if you have privacy concerns, use an email alias
  164. phalethbtw, here is possibly another bug
  165. phaleth[user@archlinux primate](master):$ rp job info 1
  166. phalethGET /api/v0/jobs/1?project=primate failed: 404 Not Found: Not found
  167. blueright, `rp job list` is empty
  168. bluephaleth could you create tasks on repopack?
  169. bluefor the those two bugs
  170. phalethyeah, sure
  171. bluethanks
  172. blueok, afk, later
  173. * phaleth quit (Quit: phaleth)
