  1. bluedreamreal: flog 0.1.11 is out; `flog update`. it supports overrides in package.json
  2. jreicherdreamreal: really like the article, but I don't see Biden mentioned.
  3. jreicherBut maybe that's my ignorance of recent US political history
  4. liolochey blue, i think it would be neat if the props that are passed to the client from a route could be accessed anywhere in a client component without having to do prop drilling, today if i want to do something like this I would register the prop that is passed to a zustand store and then use that value in any client component I want. I'm thinking it would be nice to cut out zustand altogether. But
  5. liolocmaybe that's not necessary, just want to know your thoughts on this?
  6. bluehey lioloc, do you have an example here?
  7. bluethere's a context thing that primate uses, though I'm not sure it's exposed
  8. bluemaybe you could create a task?
  9. dreamrealheh, where'd jreicher go :D
  10. blueidk
  11. blue"Out and about"
  12. dreamrealyeah, will have to point out that biden's the source for "learn to code" and I don't name and shame
  13. dreamrealthat was a great reason to not vote biden in the first place, but naturally nobody paid attention
  14. dreamrealit was just dumb ol' blue collar workers he was talking to after all
  15. dreamrealtesting flog 0.11 now
  16. bot[ByteCode.News] Alan Williamson: With AI, No One Can Hide - https://bytecode.news/posts/2026/10/alan-williamson-with-ai-no-one-can-hide
  17. dreamrealjreicher: yo
  18. dreamrealjreicher: BCN doesn't name and shame. So Biden didn't get called out specifically... by name. But it was his campaign, his answer to "if you're eroding blue collar jobs, what are your blue-collar voters supposed to DO?" and his answer was "learn to code!"
  19. dreamreal"Your sacrifice will be appreciated." <-- he didn't say that, but mein Gott. And he WON.

  21. dreamrealblue: primate built with flog is live
  22. bluedreamreal: WOW
  23. blueflog is dominating.
  24. bluesoon hopefully we'll have `flog format` and `flog lint`
  25. bluedreamreal: what currently stops you from developing on repopack? just waiting for it to mature a bit? note I'm asking about development, not deployment, though deployment should be equally possible
  26. dreamrealMostly familiarity and the cognitive overload I live under
  27. bluefair
  28. dreamreallike, I'm pretty sure feature parity is close or there, yeah?
  29. dreamrealbut my problem is that I have 4000 plates in the air THAT I CAN REMEMBER
  30. dreamrealand I'm pretty sure there's another 2k that I'm going to remember as they start to fall
  31. blueI know that.
  32. bluedreamreal: https://repopack.com/project/primate/tasks/274
  33. bluethoughts?
  34. dreamrealand therein lies the resistance to migration: it's not ANYTHING but cognitive addition
  35. blueI'm somewhat internally opposed to primate every issue web requests, but I can't think of a better solution; this ties somewhat to our discussion about a BCN article, the known unknowns
  36. blues/every/ever/
  37. dreamrealdamn it THE LOGIN COOKIE NEEDS TO LAST LONGER!!!!! AAAAGHHHH
  38. blues/issue/issuing/

  42. bluelet me see if I can fix that
  43. dreamrealOMG I love that idea
  44. blueyes?
  45. dreamrealYes
  46. dreamrealEvery update that's the first thing I have to do no matter what package I'm updating
  47. dreamreal"This updated, what does it change, do I care, what do I need to do"
  48. blueya
  49. bluefigures
  50. bluethis information will also appear on the blog post; and will be programmatically available for `primate update`
  51. bluephaleth: flog and rcompat websites updated to 0.43
  52. phalethcool, but those are peak performance already
  53. phalethrepopack is the testing ground
  54. blueya, working on it
  55. phaleththere was somebody commenting on one of the bytecode.news articles that html should be rendered client side, that's a nonsense for low traffic sites
  56. phalethI mean jamstack is a cool concept, but all you want is easy maintainability and performance at the same time
  57. phalethalso they mentioned head of line blocking for web browsers, that's still a thing even for HTTP3 when mobile devices are considered
  58. blueya
  59. bluephaleth: dreamreal: https://pgs9cog08-task-150.repopack.app/
  60. nevetflog — predictable JavaScript package management
  61. bluereworked the flog website a bit. any thoughts?
  62. blueman I *love* task previews on repopack, they're totally amazing. show me ONE platform that does this!
  63. phalethgithub when integrated with vercel also does that, but the caveat is that the project has to have package.json for vercel to automate the deployment
  64. phalethlooks like, only the GETTING STARTED summary does not collapse when other one's page is active
  65. phalethlooks good*
  66. bluephaleth: fixed
  67. phalethnice, well done
  68. jreicherdreamreal: yeah, that was my guess. I had a feeling the "learn to code" was his.
  69. bluelearn to vibe?
  70. nevet[Node.js Blog] Node.js 27.0.0-alpha.0.0.0 (Alpha) - https://nodejs.org/en/blog/release/v27.0.0-alpha.0.0.0
  71. jreicherdreamreal: just saw the messages on the log when I was "Out and about". Went to see a local band. A really good one.
